Funk Family Reunion

The Funk Family Reunion started out with a morning of Golf at the Blue Lakes Country Club.  Michael and I have never golfed there before and were stoked about going.  It is beautiful down in the canyon.  I wish I took more pictures of the course and the beautiful water.  We golfed with my uncles Darrell and David.  They were a lot of fun to play with.  Darrell found me a pretty pink metalic ball in the dry.  Which was much needed as I lost plenty of balls on this course :)

After golf we had a catered lunch and spent time catching up with family a bit.  Michael and I took the kayaks out and raced eachother.  The water felt good.  I gave paddle boarding a try.  It was really fun standing up on the board and trying to keep myself balanced.

Later we went to Pat and Darrell's place for dinner, the silent auction, raffle, and family story time.  I brought this birthday kit that mom and I made for the silent auction. Steph ended up buying it and is going to use it for her little girls first birthday.  It was fun bidding and watching the family trying to out bid eachother for the buffalo meat. Each aunt and uncle shared a story about their mom or dad.  It was great to learn more about Grandma and Grandpa Funk.  We have been richly blessed to have such a great ancestory.

I'm a Nurse. Let's Celebrate!

Thursday Mom and Dad hosted a party to celebrate me passing my boards to become a registered nurse.  We grilled hot dogs, ate yummy cupcakes, and enjoyed being outside.

After dinner, we played bocce ball and Mexican horse shoes....

and enjoyed a few short kayak rides down the canal.

The night ended with a few little parachute fireworks and smoke bombs.  It was a great night. I feel so blessed to have such a supportive family and to join the profession of nursing.

Father's Day

Father's Day Weekend was a busy one.  The Hernandez's were putting on a new roof and that was a big project.  It looks so much better now and I'm sure they are happy not to get dripped on anymore during rainy nights!  We ate dinner with my Dad this year for Father's day and got busy doing so much cooking we burnt the marshmallows on top of our brownies! It was hilarious.  This was Mom's first fire in the kitchen.

The ribbon from Dad's present.  He is such a goof.  But I love him quirks and all.  Happy Father's Day Dad!

Weekend in Eastern Idaho

We don't make our way up to Idaho Falls that often so I pleaded with Michael to take me to Rexburg since we were making the trip.  I got to explore campus and see all the new changes.  Wow is it beautiful.  The buildings are impressive but what really gets my attention is the landscaping!  They were working on the stone work and plant design between the Taylor and MC when we visited and it looks awesome so far.  BYU-Idaho really has the most beautiful campus out there.  We visited the bookstore and I got me a pair of pink handled medical scissors and of course a Nurse's cap! We ate at Porter park and saw that the carousel was up and running.  I have only seen it in use a few times.  On the way out of Rexburg we stopped at Rexburg Motor Sports.  That show room was amazing!  I found this adorable scooter in mint green with a brown leather seat.  It was beautiful.  I would love to own one some day.  We made our way back to Idaho Falls to have a swim and rest up for Saturday.  Saturday morning we got up and headed to the stake center where Lilly would be baptized.  She is growing up so fast.  They all are really.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of her in her pretty baptism dress, but I forgot.  Afterwards, we ate the park and had fun playing with the girls.  For dessert we had pink CTR cupcakes that had bubblegum frosting.  They were so cute and yummy! We all went swimming after lunch and had a fun time playing games with the beach ball and swimming with all the girls.  Sunday morning we barely made it in time for the baby blessing for Quinton.  GPS mishap. :) Following sacrament meeting we had a brunch at the Siqueiros house.  Breakfast burritos!  They were very tasty.  We didn't stay long Sunday because we had to drive back to Boise that night so Michael could be ready for clinical Monday morning.  It was a fun filled weekend and I took lots of pictures, so enjoy!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Weekend started off with a camp out Friday night at Nat-Soo-Pah.  We got rained on that night but managed to stay dry in our little tent.  It rained most of the day too, so we spent the day in the trailer with Cammy, Nick and the girls. We didn't go swimming because of the wind and thunderstorms but enjoyed Smores and a game of Mexican horse shoes and Hopla.

Ella was so fun.  Michael and I played tag with the girls. I can still hear Ella's sweet voice saying,
"Me, Amber! Chase Me!"

Hopla kept us entertained, while it was stormy outside.

Ella attempted to roast her own marshmallow.  It caught on fire in the end and made a sticky mess, but she had fun doing it.

Tasty Smores!

This was actually Mother's day...
Ella had fun playing around Grandma Holly.

Pinning and Graduation

I have completed nursing school and it feels bitter sweet.  Glad it is over, but wish NCLEX was too! I test for my registered nursing license next week.  Pinning ceremony turned out beautifully, I was happy to have my family there to support me. Here are some pics.

Cute Flowers my Niece made for me!
Graduation was probably great too, but I decided last minute not to go and to stay and help my family with Mother's day flowers.  It turned out to be a wise decision and much appreciated by my parents.  So instead we had a mock graduation for me, took pictures, and went out to dinner.
